In order to overcome challenges and provide nonstop excitement and entertainment, protagonists frequently find themselves in hazardous circumstances. 1. I care a lot (2021)

J Blakeson is the writer and director of the 2020 American satirical black comedy thriller film I Care a Lot. Along with Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Dianne Wiest, the picture stars Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, Eiza González, Chris Messina, Macon Blair, Alicia Witt, and Damian Young. The movie centers on a con artist who works as a guardian appointed by the court, taking and selling the possessions of elderly victims who are at risk, including the mother of a violent mafia boss.

I Care a Lot debuted globally on September 12, 2020, at the 45th Toronto International Film Festival. Depending on the area, it was made available for streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video on February 19, 2021. Critics gave the movie favorable reviews, and Pike was honored with the 78th Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Motion Picture.

2. The Highwayman (2019)

2019 saw the release of The Highwaymen, an American historical criminal thriller written and directed by John Fusco. In the film, Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner play Frank Hamer and Maney Gault, two former Texas Rangers who set out in the 1930s to find and capture infamous criminals Bonnie and Clyde. Starring with her are Kathy Bates, Kim Dickens, John Carroll Lynch, Thomas Mann, and William Sadler.

On March 15, 2019, The Highwaymen had a limited theatrical release in the United States. On March 29, 2019, Netflix distributed the film digitally. Critics gave it varying ratings.

3. Triple Frontier (2019)

American action-adventure film Triple Frontier, which was co-written by J. C. Chandor and Mark Boal, was released in 2019. Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, Pedro Pascal, Ben Affleck, and Garrett Hedlund play a group of ex-U.S. Army Delta Force operators who get together to plot the theft of South American crime boss Gabriel Martin Lorea.

On March 6, 2019, Netflix premiered the movie in theaters. On March 13, 2019, the movie was made available for streaming globally. Critics gave it generally positive reviews.

4. Spectral (2016)

Nic Mathieu is a Hungarian-American director and co-writer of the 2016 military science fiction action movie Spectral. James Badge Dale plays DARPA research scientist Mark Clyne in the film, which was co-written by Ian Fried and George Nolfi. Max Martini, Emily Mortimer, Clayne Crawford, and Bruce Greenwood play supporting roles.

The movie takes place in a civil war-torn Moldova, where unseen forces massacre any living thing that gets in their way. Netflix broadcast the movie globally on December 9, 2016. Spectral: Ghosts of War, a prequel graphic novel to the movie, was published by Netflix on February 1, 2017, and it was made accessible digitally via ComiXology.

5. The Harder They Fall (2021)

In 2021, Jeymes Samuel made his feature directorial debut with the American Western film The Harder They Fall. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Boaz Yakin. Starring in the movie with Jonathan Majors are Idris Elba, Edi Gathegi, Deon Cole, Delroy Lindo, Regina King, RJ Cyler, Danielle Deadwyler, and Zazie Beetz. It is one of the rare Westerns with an all-Black main cast. The characters in it are based on actual lawmen, criminals, and cowboys from the American West in the nineteenth century.

On October 6, 2021, The Harder They Fall made its theatrical debut at the BFI London Film Festival.[2] On October 22, 2021, it was released in limited quantities. On November 3, Netflix began streaming it. Samuel’s directing and the film’s ensemble cast both garnered favorable reviews.

6. Athena (2022)

Romain Gavras co-wrote and directed the epic action drama film Athena in 2022. Dali Bensalah, Sami Slimane, Anthony Bajon, Ouassini Embarek, and Alexis Manenti are among the film’s stars.

Athena debuted globally on September 9, 2022, at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, where it was a Golden Lion contender. It was then made available on Netflix on September 23, 2022. While the film’s directorial and technical features were praised, its lack of depth was critiqued despite the majority of reviews being positive.

7. What Happened To Monday (2017)

What Happened to Monday is a 2017 dystopian science-fiction action thriller film directed by Tommy Wirkola and written by Max Botkin and Kerry Williamson. It is also referred to as Seven Sisters in some regions. Willem Dafoe, Glenn Close, and Noomi Rapace feature in the movie.

On August 18, 2017, What Happened to Monday debuted in theaters around Europe and Asia. Later that same year, Netflix began showing the movie in the US, UK, and Latin America. Critics gave the movie varying ratings.

8. Polar (2019)

Based on Víctor Santos’s 2013 graphic novel Polar: Came From the Cold, Jonas Åkerlund and Jayson Rothwell’s 2019 neo-noir action thriller film Polar is directed. Mads Mikkelsen, Vanessa Hudgens, Katheryn Winnick, and Matt Lucas are the film’s main cast members. The story centers on an elderly assassin who is about to retire and is pursued by a company looking to profit on his pension.

Netflix launched Polar globally on January 25, 2019.

9. All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)

Based on Erich Maria Remarque’s 1929 novel of the same name, All Quiet on the Western Front (German: Im Westen nichts Neues, or “Nothing New in the West”) is a German epic anti-war film released in 2022. After the films in 1930 and 1979, this is the third adaptation of the book for the big screen. Starring Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, Daniel Brühl, Sebastian Hülk, Aaron Hilmer, Edin Hasanovic, and Devid Striesow, it was co-written, co-directed, and co-produced by Edward Berger.

10. The Night Comes For Us (2018)

Timo Tjahjanto is the writer and director of the 2018 Indonesian action thriller film titled The Night Comes for Us. It began life as a screenplay, was then turned into a graphic novel, and was eventually made into a movie. Tjahjanto said in December 2014 that he was collaborating on a comic adaptation of his original screenplay with the Indonesian artist collective Glitch Network. Starring in the movie with Iko Uwais are Julie Estelle, Joe Taslim, Sunny Pang, Zack Lee, and Shareefa Daanish. In the movie, a former enforcer of the law (Taslim) goes on a mission to save a little girl from the criminal syndicate, which then dispatches hordes of thugs and a rising gang prospect (Uwais) to kill the enforcer and the child.
