Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the creator and director of the Hindi-language period drama television series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. During the Indian independence fight against the British Raj, the show centers on the life of tawaifs in Lahore’s Heera Mandi red-light area. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha are among its main cast members. Recurring parts are played by Farida Jalal, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, and Adhyayan Suman.

3. The Great Wall (2016)

Based on Tom Wolfe’s novel of the same name, A Man in Full is a limited-run drama television series produced in the United States that stars Jeff Daniels and Diane Lane. It was directed by Regina King and Thomas Schlamme and was created by David E. Kelley for Netflix. Six episodes make up the series, which debuted on Netflix on May 2, 2024.

In “A Man In Full,” every man is an asshole. They are all aggressive, self-centered, and infatuated with their balls; none of them could hold a child without making them weep. However, the fact that the six-episode Netflix series aren’t complete garbage is the first indication that something is wrong with it. Their inability to embrace the purest, richest, most full aspects of themselves results in toothless satire that says very little about these ludicrous brothers and even less about contemporary society. Richard Gadd is the creator and star of the British black comedy drama-thriller miniseries Baby Reindeer. Based on Gadd’s true story of being pursued and sexually attacked in his twenties, the series is an adaption of his autobiographical one-man act of the same name. With Gadd, Jessica Gunning, and Nava Mau in the lead roles, it is directed by Weronika Tofilska and Josephine Bornebusch.

On April 11, 2024, all seven of the series’ episodes simultaneously debuted on Netflix. It was highly praised by critics and debuted at the top of Netflix’s Global Weekly Top 10 TV (English).

6. The Fall Guy (2024)

The Fall Guy is an American action comedy film from 2024 that was written and directed by David Leitch. It is partially based on the stunt performer TV series from the 1980s. It centers on a stuntman (Ryan Gosling) who is directing his ex-girlfriend’s (Emily Blunt) first action movie. However, while working on the movie, he gets entangled in a plot involving the lead actor (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, and Winston Duke are also in the movie.

On March 12, 2024, The Fall Guy made his SXSW debut. On May 3, the film was distributed in the US. Reviews were largely good, as it broke the record for the most automobile rolls ever with a Guinness World Record.

7. Mortal Kombat (2021)

Based on the video game franchise of the same name developed by Ed Boon and John Tobias, Mortal Kombat is an American martial arts fantasy film released in 2021. Simon McQuoid, making his feature directorial debut, co-produced and directed the film. Screenplay writers Greg Russo and Dave Callaham wrote the script. This movie functions as both a reboot and the third entry in the Mortal Kombat movie franchise. Dark Waters is a 2019 American legal thriller film, written and directed by Matthew Michael Carnahan and Mario Correa. The narrative dramatizes Robert Bilott’s lawsuit against DuPont, a chemical manufacturing company, for releasing unapproved chemicals into a town. Along with Anne Hathaway, Tim Robbins, Bill Camp, Victor Garber, Mare Winningham, William Jackson Harper, and Bill Pullman, Mark Ruffalo plays the role of Bilott.

Focus Features released Dark Waters in limited theaters on November 22, 2019, and it became available nationwide on December 6, 2019. Critics gave the movie favorable reviews, and it made over $23 million at the box office.

9. Shadow in the cloud (2021)

Roseanne Liang is the director of the 2020 action horror movie Shadow in the Cloud, which stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Beulah Koale, Taylor John Smith, Callan Mulvey, and Nick Robinson. Liang and Landis wrote the screenplay. It centers on a female flight officer who, after boarding a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress on a top-secret mission in the Pacific during World War II, meets an evil gremlin while in flight.

On September 12, 2020, the movie made its theatrical debut at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, where it took home the Midnight Madness People’s Choice Award. Redbox Entertainment and Vertical Entertainment released it on January 1, 2021.

10. The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019)

In their feature film debuts as directors, Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz wrote and directed the 2019 American comedy-drama The Peanut Butter Falcon, which starred Zack Gottsagen, Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and John Hawkes. The story centers on a young guy with Down syndrome who breaks out of an assisted living institution and makes the acquaintance of a renegade fisherman who is on the run. As the two men quickly become close, a social worker makes an effort to locate them. Georgia and North Carolina served as the filming locations.
